« …Live with love and follow the road picked for you from above ». The message of this statement is at the base of my work. There was a moment when artist V.Popkov revealed to me the meaning of composition in a painting, its force and its tremendous possibilities for affecting the viewer; since then, for me genre painting has been the main form in painting. In painting there exist for me three qualities which are needed for producing a successful picture: its conception, composition, and an attractive color principle. But the main stimulus is love. Love for what you’re painting and for the process of painting ».
